Totally unacceptable behaviour and did not help

I have a contract phone that I purchased at mtn Melrose arch about a year ago.the phones recently giving me problems so I thought I should return it as it's insured. I got to mtn Melrose arch and found one guy helping another customer so I waited.few minutes later a guy walks in and just pass me went straight to the counter to ask for a lady by the name of Channel (his friend) she started helping him and I told her that I was there first and the guy started swearing at me and calling me names that i can't even mention.the lady turned to me and said what seem to be the problem? I told her I purchased the phone there and it's giving me problems she asked if it was insured and started calling out a number (very irritated with me) I can call the number did not exist so I told her and now very annoyed with bad attitude she called out a wrong number again..she was very impatient and turned the screen to me and said LOOK AT IT YOURSELF! question is aren't they suppose to take the phone back and deal with the Insurance themselves .as a customer I feel she was not helpful at all and I'm still stuck with the phone. I'm ver unhappy with the way she delt with the issue and demand mtn to help.:(
