My contract period Blackberry BIS ran out in April (with my last contract renewal in April 2011 I had taken a top up 135 packing with free BIS for 24 months). As a top up customer I was intending on then buying BIS on a month to month basis or adding it to my contract for the remaining contract months. However, because I have given notice of my intent to not renew my top up contract on expiry in July but rather go over to prepaid, I have been barred from the option of purchasing BIS on a month to month basis.
When I visited a store a consultant attempted to load BIS onto my contract for the remaining period but was unable to do so (again, because I had given notice that I would not be renewing the contract).
I do not see how Vodacom can deny me a service for the reason that I do not intend on continuing a contract, thus leaving me with a blackberry with no functionality until August. I had intended on remaining a Vodacom customer (and indeed taking out a further contract at a later stage) but now I am not sure. I am able to purchase any other type of bundle, but not the BIS.
I attempted to call the Vodacom call centre about this, but was kept on hold for over 20 minutes.
