Contract - automatically renewed!

To whom it may concern,

I found this very shady by virgin active, i told the consultant i want an one year membership as i want to go overseas after and guess what on November of that year when i left i thought my contract has expired and don't have to worry about anything so i left and came back after 2 years, a week ago i receive a call from MBD attorneys that I owe 1400 rands? I was confused, they said they automatically renewed my contract, I did not receive any calls, emails, or any thing regarding my renewal, the consultant never told me anything! I am really upset since i never knew and that i didn't even use the facilities.

I do not owe Virgin active anything and i would like this to be sorted asap otherwise i will make noise about this or try and take legal actions, i don't wish to go this route.
