Debited my account on the wrong day!

I agreed that R150 would be debited from my account on the first of each month for my gym contract. This month my account was debited on 28/03/2013 when it should have been debited on 01/04/2013. if the first day of the month falls on a public holiday then the debit order should be processed on the first working day of that month, which in this case would be 02/04/2013. i was not notified that i would be debited earlier. my salary was only paid to me on 28/03/2013 and therefore the funds would only reflect today 29/03/2013 - as a result when the debit order was processed yesterday there were insufficient funds in my account and i am now liable to pay a penalty charge of about R100. I also find it strange that my debit order was processed yesterday when my boyfriends debit order was processed today - we signed up for the same contract on the same day... so why are we being debited on different days. i am also highly upset because this is damaging my credit rating. i was planning on taking out a laptop and internet contract for work... i CANT do this now as my latest 3 month bank statement will state that i had insufficient funds... now i have to wait 3 more months!!!
