Hi there, I am not a member of Virgin Active, never have been and never will be but they have been debiting my bank account since August 2013 for someone else's gym fees. I've spoken to Laverne Willoughby of Virgin Active in November 2013. She confirmed that the debit order was for Richard Nolan of Roodepoort (membership number 37069855). (Don't know him from a bar of soap and I live in Cape Town). At the time she said this will be sorted out. Subsequently she emailed me and asked for my bank statement which I refuse to give to her as it contains confidential information. Virgin Active must have all the details of the amounts charged to my account and does not need my bank statement. In addition I have phoned my bank (Standard Bank) twice and placed stop orders against the amounts deducted by Virgin Active. Virgin Active however has conveniently changed the amounts deducted in the following month by as little as 1 cent, effectively disabling the stop order. Nice one Virgin Active!!!
