Firstly I inquired from the Gym last year what I could do to change my membership into another name and they told me a R700 would have to be paid for this to happen. I then advertised my gym membership to be taken over and found a willing person. Then contacted the gym & was told the R700 no longer applies, policy was changed. I have moved out of the area and am now requested (after having sent an email to the cancellations department on 9th Dec 2013) having only received a response on the 4th January to pay a settlement of R2368.94. I am not able to pay this and that is why I found someone to take over my membership, but of course being the rule maker, Planet fitness changes things whenever it suits them to suit themselves as with the black tag which now makes entering the gym such a mission. I wish to leave the gym as I not longer reside in the are and join another gym. I cannot pay for 2 memberships and it would seem trying to legitimately get out of a contract impossible without a cost of this exorbitance. Please help me Planet Fitness, I need to do the right thing, I'm unable to use your gym anymore.
