I joined virgin active in August while i was still under discovery health. I paid a once off fee of oabout a thousand rand and wa told that my monthy fee would be two hundred and something provided i go to gym at least 4 times a week. I did indeed keep up my visits to my surprise i was billed about R668 whenI called to find out what the reason was they told me vitality notified them of cancelling my membership. I then explained to them that I only joined because under vitality I could afford the two hundered and something monthly fee and would like to cancel my contract because this is not what i signed up for. The lady who helped me from Cape town head office told me that I cant cancel the contract. I believ I have a right to cancel my contract because it was signed under the conditions that i was a vitality member i dont believe it would be fair to tie me down to a contract that I cannot afford.
