Failure to Refund Registration

On 22 September 2013 my son went to Virgin Active Gatesville to enquire about becoming a member. Everything was explained to him and he understood what was required. He paid the R149, 00 registration/ application fee in cash on the same day. He gave his bank details for the monthly debit of fees. His blood pressure was high when he was asessed that morning and had to get a doctors report. Our family doctor advised him against taking up membership at the time. We went back on Saturday 28 September 2013 to cancel the mebership. He handed in the card that was issued and all other documents that he received in the envelope from them. He was assured that the registration fee would be paid back into his bank account. This never happened and a debit of R299, 00 was taken from his bank account on! Oct 2013. We had gone to the facilty on three occasions and no refund was made. My son asked the bank to reverse the debit after the second time..As of this morning Grant assured us once again that the refund will be made. I am however doubtful of this as he does not even know who to speak to about the refund.
