Wow was I disgusted away by the dodgy sales practices @ Planet Fitness!
I have been looking to join a gym recently & Planet Fitness
1. No Online Fees or Fee Structure.
2. I called and email the company to find out the cost was told to come in.
3. When I visited the club and asked for the fees, was told to fill out forms with my details and still not given the fees.
4. I was then taken to a small room where a sales person pulled out a small white board type of material and showed me 2 prices options starting at R600, which i may add were more expensive then any gym in the country or any overseas which i have been a member at.
5. The she grabs a white board marker and says
"If you pay cash today R875 you can get an 8 months contract with us."
This calculates to R109.375/month NOW THAT IS 1/6 of the price with a white board marker, no terms or conditions nothing.
6. Then i was told i had to pay today because that is the deal and its only available today.
At which point I walked out
I have worked in sales before at other companies where we had to cover FAIS complacency, costumer service & ethics. Planet fitness broke about every legal & ethical boundary in the space of 10mins
