Incompetent administration

My husband (then fiance) and I both signed up for a three year membership on the same day but my account was only activated months later. I always made sure there was enough money in the account for the debit order but the debit just never happened. When the account was eventually activated, I was never informed resulting in the debit bouncing back due to lack of funds. I subsequently changed the bank details and paid the arrears. Few months later I was again informed that my account was in arrears but this time it was because they didnt activate the debit order. Now three years since signing the contract, they refuse to cancel the contract because the account was only activated 7 months after I signed. So whose fault is that? I Have not been to the gym in months because of the ridiculous policies. I would seriously discourage anyone from joining planet fitness gyms as their administrative policies are designed to only benefit them.
