Dangerous trainers

It was probably my worst gym session in Randburg yesterday.

There were a bunch or newbies who obviously signed up in January, this is great, however they were in the way and fooling around and aggravating the serious members like myself who have been going to gym for years. I understand that they are inexperienced and everyone needs to start somewhere, but my main concern is this:

while I was doing my exercises around them, there were 4 trainers standing together having a huge debate about which woman's chest in the gym looks the best!
Now why are they on the floor in the first place? are they there to waste space? or are they there to monitor and help the inexperienced newbies at gym to avoid injury and do the exercises correctly.
What is the point of having trainers on the floor to help and monitor if they are more concerned about people ascetics.

I also approached these 4 trainers and complained about one of the brand new cross over machines which has a cable problem and sticks. I got a mediocre response and the trainer simply looked at me and shrugged it off as I was interrupting his day.
