A video was taken of me while training at the Virgin Active gym Randburg by a personal trainer Ms Bernadette Meyer (Delarey) who has a contract with Virgin Active and bears their branding. The video/picture was taken while I was training without consent. I was advised by fellow gym members and trainer who had seen the video. I complained and Bernadette admitted in writing that she had taken a photo and shown it to 3 people. I asked that she be removed/dismissed for her misconduct as it made me feel very uncomfortable to train at the gym. Paul Twemlow Club General Manager advised that she was a 3rd party contractor and her contract could not be terminated. I escalated the matter and my discomfort with the outcome, Regional Director Jaques Human then advised the matter was serious but a minor contractual breach and the trainer would continue her contract at Virgin Active. I was advised by Jaques that if I was not happy I could change gyms. Virgin rules do not allow videos or photos to be taken I was advised that the matter was serious but considered to be a minor breach. I am disgusted that behaviour like this is allowed at gym and still require the trainers to be terminated.
