I applied for credit at Incredible Connection in june 2010 and was declined, I then got my laptop throught Hi-Finance and 3 months down the line (September 2010) started getting Envelopes with a magazine I did not subscribe to and a fee for it appearing on a statement. I did not sign anything or collect a card.

In December 2010 I went to Incredible Connection in Hemmingways to cancel the account, which was in arrears of R90. No one could help me. A consultant ended up calling the head offices to find out what was happening and it was concluded that the account would be cancelled immediately (There should be a recording of this).

Yesterday I got a call from lawyers telling me to pay up or get blacklisted. I actually hope that they do blacklist me as they have already classified me as a bad payer on my credit profile. That way I can claim for more damages. I am taking legal action against this rogue company, and am just posting this so someone else might learn before engaging in activity with Incredible Connection / Hi-Fi Corporation / Mbedi Group. This is the second time, I went through something similar with the Hi-Finance account but paid up and let it go. Not this time around.
