It took me 15 minutes to purchase one soap dish on Sunday morning! Firstly, there were only 3 cashiers open, and all three seemed to be busy with problems. I was first in the queue for the tills and waited nearly 10 minutes to be served. The cashier did not greet me. She rang up my R19.99 purchase and I handed her a R100 note. She opened the till and looked blankly into it, then turned her head left & right and then continued looking blankly into her till. I eventually asked her what the problem was and she said "no change". I ended up having to use a debit card (costing me transaction fees).
Surely the tills should have staff AND change on a busy day of the week? And surely cashiers should be told to contact a supervisor with a problem and not just stand there with a blank look on their face, making it the customers problem?
