I recently received a R100 off R350 voucher from Truworths and decided to buy my wife some perfume. i couldn't decide between two bottles and then opted to buy both. as i walked to the till point, the assistant called me back and gave me a free gift... and i was most chuffed... till the cashier assisted me. She told me that i couldnt use my voucher as i was getting a free gift!?!? i pointed out to her that as per THEIR rules, the voucher cant be used on sale and discounted items, and as i was buying neither, i was entitled to my discount. she called the manager and he also agreed that i couldnt use the voucher. had i wanted to, i could have paid seperately for the two bottles of perfume and then used the voucher on the second sale... but i believe that it is a matter of principal. i feel cheated and that i, a truworths client for more than 10 years have been treated unfairly. i then insisted that they proceed to close my account. surely this qualifies as unethical behavior on their part. why then send me the voucher and then make up additional rules to try and force me to by more.
