On Saturday 23 March while paying for our purchases we received a Standard Bank message that the money had gone off our account however there was a till failure and the receipt did not print. The cashier called the supervisor/manager who stated that Standard Bank Titanium cards are "always giving problems" - something that Standard Bank are not aware of. We ended up swiping again and then went to an ATM and drew a statement which reflected that the money had been deducted twice, on returning to the store to show the lady she was extremely rude and stated that "it means nothing to her and we must sort it out with our bank".
We have sorted this out with Standard Bank but would love the staff member in question to be trained to be more customer conscious and far less aggressive towards the public. We will be purchasing elsewhere in future.
