I went to Chelsea Spar to get a ready cooked meal, Chicken ala King to be exact. I purchase this very frequently simply because all of their meals contain either beef or pork and due to cultural reasons, I cannot eat that. I have on a few occasions requested to management to try and make more non pork or beef dishes, even the wors stand outside to sell mutton but this has not happened but this is not the problem here today. I went to the Deli area and dished out some chicken ala king and it didn't quite look right to me. I gave the container to the employee for weighing and pricing and at the same time asked her if this meal was prepared today. She did not know and asked a colleague who replied as if this is the most normal thing to say, "No this is yesterday's food" I then told her that I do not want it and left.
Once before it was determined that the chicken was spoilt. One would expect that a big corporate like SPAR would ensure that the food prepared in their franchises are fresh and cooked daily?? Surely franchise Spars should maintain the same high standards as Superspars?? This is certainly not a reflection of the "MY SPAR" standards which is advertised on tv daily!!
