Problem with cell C Nokia modem

I purchased a cell c 200 MB deal including Nokia cs19 modem on friday 8 feb 2013. After trying to use it over the weekend i struggled to get connected. The cellc speedtest indicated 0.1 on various tests. After having had it tested by IT person at work, they got same result. I returned the modem to cna on wed 13 feb 2013. Stragely enough i was then questioned by the salesman about whether i had made an informed decision, My response was that I use a slower cell c modem which was faster than the new one. After enquiring about my modem (no correspondence from cna) i was told there was a R49 charge from cell c as the software was defective on the new modem. After having queried this (how can a new modem have outdated software and i am expected to pay for it) with both the salesman and the acting store manager, I have had no response even after phoning again yesterday and leaving a message. I am still without my modem and absolutely no response from the store.
