I purchased a 3G modem from the Midlands Mall Cell C store in December 2012, which was a pre paid one year supply of data. The modem initially did not work, which I assumed was due to poor signal in PMB, as I had checked the service supply for Cell C in Tamboerskloof Cape Town - where I would be moving to. When I moved to Cape Town in January, the modem still didn't work. It would connect for up to 5 minutes before disconnecting. I visited to the Cavendish store 4 times for assistance. The modem was finally sent to JHB for repairs. The modem returned with note of a software upgrade, which was not the complaint. The modem still did not connect. I took the modem to the PMB midlands branch where after much pleading the modem was resent to JHB for repairs again. I have little faith that it will return without working. I have been without internet for one third of the duration of my contract and am told I cannot be issued with a working modem in the meantime. Cell C has failed to deliver anything at all to me for a contract of R2000. I was issued with a damaged/useless product, which could not be replaced or fixed.
