I received an Acer laptop as a gift. The issue is that the graphics card is not up to spec as i would like. So i took the device with the slip to Game Clearwater for an exchange. I spoke to a guy by the name of Israel. I explained my predicament to Israel and asked if i could perhaps get an exchange the laptop for another (perhaps pay in a difference). Israel advised me that Game does not accept exchanges when it come to electronic devices such as cellphones, laptops, tablets etc... He said that even if the device was brought back the next day, its Games policy not to exchange it. I work for MTN and i have clients on a daily basis that bring their devices back and we give them the option of a refund or exchange. He also told me to go to Hifi Corp and see that they have the same policy. Is that what you should be telling a customer??? As far as i know is that the CPA allows a person to exchange a device the very next day. So what Israel is saying is that Game does not comply to the CPA. The Act also states that a consumer has the right to choose or examine the goods. This is not what i would choose!!! It was a gift. What am i going to do with a device that i cannot use???
