Makro
Hard Drive-less For Nearly 5 Months

In May last year I purchased a Freecom 750Gb hard drive from Makro. In October it broke and, since it was still on warranty, I took it back for repairs. I asked to rather have it replaced as I needed it urgently. They said it's procedure for them to send it to the suppliers for evaluation before they could credit me. They claimed to have put it on 'urgent' and that they would contact me within max 21 working days. More than 2 months later, with no response from Makro, I phoned in to find out that the suppliers had not come to collect it. I was nevertheless credited, however the 750Gb hard drive was no longer stocked and I was forced to downgrade. This hard drive broke - same error as the first - about a month later. I went through the same procedure with Makro again, only this time they were dishonest and told me on the phone that the suppliers were in the process of evaluation when in fact it was only received the following day. I am still waiting for response after countless frustrating phone calls with Makro staff. I'm a very unhappy customer, and intend never to shop at Makro multimedia ever again. However I do feel it necessary that I be compensated for the inconvenience.
