I rushed to Makro to take advantage of their Sat Deal on 26 Jan only to find that the Deal (Lexar 18G, 8G & card reader @ R149) was out of stock.
Just before 10am there were a number of customers running around trying to find where we can purchase the Deal. I spoke with Jonathan who informed me that the items were out of stock and they were taking customer details and would call us all on Mon 28th Jan with ETA on availability.
We were asked to write our names and contact details in a book which we did - I was the 5th customer name and the deal was limited to 700. I requested one bundle; all the other customers requested 2x which was max per person.
To date, I have not heard from Makro. I have tried to reach the store on 0860300999 on more than one occasion last week and on Monday and today - the number remains engaged.
I'm even more disappointed in Makro as on the day I specifically visited the store for this Deal and ended up spending over R2, 000: R716 in Electronics Dept; R665 in F&B and General Dept and R687 in the Liquor Store - Great marketing plan for Makro but in the end we, the consumers are the fools
I would appreciate a return call/email from Makro in this regard
