I would like to to lay a complaint of false advertising against Makro. They had sent out an email stating that the company has a one day special (sunday 19th October 2013) that they had 400 units available. I got to the Springfield store at 9;10 where the staff told me that they were sold out. What the advert failed to state was that there were only 400 units available in country and not per store.
Further, upon speaking to Mmelo khozi at the store he advised that we leave our details with Viloshnie and that if they find stock we would be contacted. We then approached Viloshnie who then said that that is not the case, THEY WERE OUT OF STOCK! That came across as completely unprofessional as Mmeli and Viloshnie as staff were contradicting themselves. Mmeli then had to leave to make a phone call and promised his prompt return but i saw him the aisles laughing and joking around with other staff.
I think this sort of service is pathetic and Makro is guilty of false advertising. Its sad that we buy all our major appliances there and to be treated the way were... I hope this finds the desk of someone who actually knows whats happening at Makro and remedies this issue...
