Defective Hob. Service Runaround

We bought -inter alia- a KIC Hob (KHB 604) from Game last august; CDD No 6694615. installed hob in the new premises in Nov 2013 -by a registered electrician- only to find within days that the hotplates were burning the top surface of the S/S unit brown all around the plates. Called WP service (Ref: s000343393) to be told by 'Marco' that we must buy and use a special cleaner (autosol), after every use, to keep it like new. Not having been informed by the retailer this was the case at point of sale, nor advised in any accompanying literature at POS, we were obviously dissatisfied, so asked W/P for an replacement unit, this was done within a week or so but the replacement does the same. Now convinced that this is a design defect in the actual product, we are still waiting for a (preferably non-KIC, which if more expensive would be paid for) -replacement that doesn't burn itself brown almost immediately with the requirement to purchase a 'special' cleaner. Service to date has been acceptable, if a little deserving of improvement. Decision-making process should be delegated to more employees. If only we'd come here to Hello Peter first, before purchase, LOL!
