I bought a New swimming pool cleaner 18 January 2013!
Yesterday morrning (10 February 2013) I noticed that the pool cleaner was not working. On closer investigation I noticed that the diaphragm was torn.
I took the cleaner back to the Builders Warehouse store where I bought the unit 3 weeks ago. They were not prepared to sort out the problem in store, but wanted me to leave the cleaner there so that they could request the supplier to sort out the problem. I explained that I need the cleaner fixed because I couldn't risk the pool becoming more and more dirty by the day. The manager took on a no care attitude, after which I decided to just buy a new diaphragm and repair the unit myself.
I am now concerned that this franchise group won't honour any warranty on the products they stock. I recently purchased expensive tools from these stores and now truly regret spending my money there without the peace of mind of a product warranty. I will in future rather purchase expensive products from other suppliers who honour a product's warranty.
