The unit goes faulty and they can't fix it

I bought a tracking unit to look after my car. The contract was for 2 years and covered the service of tracking the vehicle, and the purchase of the unit on a single debit order. Now after 7 years the unit is faulty, and I am advised that they cannot repair it.
The options the call centre has given me is to purchase a new unit for R3000 and pay R174 per month, or sign a new contract at around R250 per month. Obviously the difference is the cost of the unit.
For 7 years I have been paying off the cost of the unit, I have been loyal to the supplier, and fitting a replacement unit would still require a continued payment. They will only supply the replacement if I enter into a further 3 year contract.
I have paid for a service, and am prepared to continue to pay for the service, but the supplier wants me to enter into a new 3 year contract for them to be able to continue to supply the service, after they have continued to charge me the full unit finance fee 5 years after the contract had ended.
In my mind, they are over charging the consumer, and not providing the service backup on the product.
I will never support them again.
