Criteria???

I have had an account with Edgars for over 30 years with a 4 and a half year break while I was overseas in the early 90s. I got a letter from them saying my acc will be closed and I must pay up the whole Balance by today, which I will do today. I was informed i don't fit their criteria (ABSA) who has bought out their accounts (I have had in account at Absa since the day they started out as a bank many years ago. I have updated my info twice while staying at this address once when my bag got with my card in and last year when I applied for a cell phone contract. I am often in advance with payments because of not wanting to be behind on payments if i forgot, if i was late at any time it was for a short period of time.

Foschini and Truworths have sent me sms this month saying I have approved credit with them, without even applying (which makes me feel I have a good credit rating) The reason why I have an Edgars account is that they cater for the whole family. Why should I have to re-apply for an existing acc when they have all my details already? I am not at all happy with Edgars or ABSA by being so badly treated by them.
