What is happening??

My mother received a letter in the post that Edgars has now sold their assets to ABSA Bank and that her account which she has had for years and years and years will be closed end January 2014.

Now firstly, the letter sounds like my mother is the worst person when it comes to paying her account, which is not the case. And I find that very unprofessional.

Could someone please give clearance on this situation as soon as possible. What is my mother do to about a new account? It is also stated in the letter that she might not be able to obtain an account again??? Could someone please tell me why, as she is a very good account holder and she always pays her account on time. Why did she get this letter to start off with? Did Edgars sell their assets to ABSA Bank? And why are we the customers not aware of what is going on?

Please contact my mother as soon as possible. Please show how good your customer service really are, which I know for a fact it could be! Her name is Maryna Du Preez.
