I have been an Edgars customer and account holder for over 40 years and always paid my account on time. I have now received a letter from Edcom stating that they have sold their credit book to ABSA and I no longer meet there criteria so my account will be closed by January 2014.
I did contact a person by the name of Promise on the 16th of September 2013 on the customer care number and she informed me that she is not aware of any such letter and neither is her Supervisor.
I'm so disappointed that after being a loyal customer for so many years Edgars closes my account with a simple letter regardless of my perfect credit record and are not even able to provide any further explanation when contacted, as their staff do not know what letter I'm referring to.
Clearly being an honest and good long standing customer does not mean anything to Edgars, they prefer late payers or perhaps people who don't pay at all.
