Closing of accounts

Three account holders in my household have been told that Edgards (Edcon) have sold their credit book to ABSA and that our accounts have "insufficient information on your account, systems and other compliance related matters" which resulted in the account not being sold to ABSA. Furthermore, Edgars (Edcon) now has decided to " not be providing credit going forward on accounts that were not sold as part of the ABSA relationship...". So that means we must pay up as our accounts with Edgars will be closed on 31 January 2014. Nice one Edgars, considering that we are all exemplary payers and have been for years. Why should we go through a reapplication process and why was this sale and its implications never made public until now. You have just lost 3 customers and I am willing to bet that a significant portion of their accounts base is in exactly the same boat - will the company survive without us - they certainly do not deserve to!!!
