I have purchased a LG 42"LED tv in September 2012. It is now 1 year and 4 months later and the TV has stopped working. I have called HiFi Corp and they informed me that I need to pay for repairs. This to me is unacceptable as the consumer act clearly state in Par 55, 2, (c) that " will be usable and durable for a reasonable period of time, having regard to the use to which they would normally be put and to all the surrounding circumstances of their supply"
Now I might be wrong but when you buy a TV you would expect it to last more than 2 years. That is why I bought LG and no other brand. But now I get the impression that HiFi Corp and LG sells appliances to only last for 1 year.
I feel that this TV needs to be repaired by LG or HiFi Corp as 1 year and 4 months is not a "reasonable period of time" before it became faulty.
