We got engaged with a Princess cut trilogy ring from Browns Eastgate now valued at R67, 000 on 14 February 2012. So you would think that ring of this price would last, think again! The ring was white gold when we purchased it, needlees to say after not even 2 months the ring was yellow, it looked like the rodium plating evaporated. My husband decided to have the ring reset in platinum so it wont loose its colour again. This was done October 2012. 2 weekends ago I was sitting on the couch and looked down on my hand and to my absolute shock & horror the one diamond was GONE! 16 months after being reset in Platinum. On top of this my husband had a platinum wedding band made to match my engagement ring. You would once again think it is platinum, a very hard metal, harder than gold! Think again... it is scratched and damaged so badly at the bottom you would think it is made from lead. I have never seen such shocking quality from a company calling themselves "Browns", a so called top class diamond store. The best is I have a fulltime domestic, i dont do gardening and I am an accountant.
Save your money & think twice before buying overpriced, shocking quality rings @ Browns.
