Bad experience with Browns Menlyn

We went to Browns Menlyn on the 27/01/2013 to purchase a ring. We were told it is a Lay-By purchase, all that was required was: a customer profile, 30% deposit, repayment in 4 months. We paid 50%, and asked the following: When can we collect the ring? (Answer: Next week Sunday 03/02/2013) once the re-sizing has been done), what interest percentage do we pay on the outstanding amount? (Answer: no interest is charged). We went to the store on Sunday 3/02 to collect the ring and were appalled by the service and treatment we received. Not only could we not collect the ring, we then only found out it must be paid in full before collection. The staff also questioned the discount, they were very unprofessional and treated us with disrespect. I called the store this morning to inform them that I would come to make full payment and collect the ring only to discover that the ring hasn't been sent away for resizing. Browns is reputable jeweler and a business, not reliant on one staff member. Now we have to wait an additional 5 days for them to sort it out. This whole experience has left us very unhappy and dissatisfied! I would prefer never wearing a piece of Browns jewellery again!
