A month ago my husband & I were looking at a Browns window in Tygervalley & saw a diamond ring that was marked as reduced from /-R50 000 to R27 995. We went into the store to purchase it & the saleslady indicated that the price was over R100 000 (it happened to be a 1ct " protea" diamond) after a 30% discount. We enquired why the price in the window said R27995 & were told that the two salesladies were busy merchandising the window & had not corrected the pricing. Understanding that mistakes happen we said ok and left, albeit disappointed. The very next weekend we see another diamond ring in the window marked at R34 995. The lady who helped us previously was outside the store. I then asked her please can I try on the ring in the centre row marked at R34 995. She looked a bit nervous & pointed at other ones and I said no the one marked at R34995. She and her team leader then tried to deceive us with another ring that they presented as the one we pointed out. When we said it was not & then spoke to the regional head and then sent a mail to the MD's office we were offered a 5% discount- FALSE ADVERTISING to lure customers in and taking no acoountability is unacceptable BROWNS!!!
