After being an account holder since approxmiately 1980 (33 yrs!!!) & after NEVER failing EVER to make payment of my account I received an sms msg on my cellphone from Edcon on 9 January 2014 which reads as follows: "Please pay your Edcon acc no 700100100010112563 urgently in order to maintain your positive payment record and good credit reference". I am astounded and horrified to think that I have had this account for so long that I am now treated like a child & am receiving messages like this. I DO NOT have to be reminded or told when or how to pay my account. I am insulted by this and do not wish to received reminders of any kind in future, PLEASE. NB, my son left SA about 5 yrs ago & left an Edgars acc of approximately R7 800 which I offered to pay which was not my obligation AT ALL. I am not leaving the country and not a risk to Edgars AT ALL. Please do not send me any further messages. The account is always paid and on time.
