Very poor customer service

Your Long Beach mall store advised my gift card was valid until end Jan. Tried to redeem on 2/1 at Blue Route store only to be rudely told card "defective". Explained had been told valid til Jan - sales people not interested in assisting at all - basically stared at me and shrugged! Sent email to immediately - still no response to date I may add - phoned call centre yesterday only to be told they are not prepared to extend the gift card at all, even after I explained the circumstances - I was totally shocked and disgusted! I must now lose the entire value of my card (given to me by a relative who has since passed away) due to incorrect info given to me by your staff?! Also bearing in mind that the card had expired literally days before! I am in the service industry myself, I extend vouchers all the time (within reason of course) and would NEVER treat a client like this - I do not expect a lengthy extension - merely enough time to redeem, as missing the "deadline" was due to info given to me by your company. Whilst you may not have a legal obligation to extend, I certainly feel you do have an ethical one - I look forward to receiving a positive response in this regard.
