We wanted to buy a MacBook Air at the Menlyn store, we had the box in our hands and they were not very keen to assist when we wanted to pay with our iStore Gift Cards. They said that the machine was not working but also did not try to get it to work or to offer an alternative option to redeem the vouchers in their store (e.g. manually). We left the store empty handed with only an apology. They made no effort to take our contact details to call us when they could redeem the vouchers and to keep the MacBook Air for us.
We called the Call Centre and reported the machine (they were not aware of the problem). The store manager called us later during the evening and requested that we email the card numbers to them. Why didn't they try to assist us while we were in the store? We felt uneasy about this and opted to try again the next day. We worked through the Call Centre who followed up and informed us that the gift card machines at both Menlyn and Centurion are not working!
Do NOT buy iStore Gift Cards, it seems to be a? iStore already has the money and does not seem to be keen to honour the gift vouchers.
