I recently purchased a laptop worth R18000 from the incredible connection store in Sandton. Although I was not convinced that it fits my need, I was told by the store attendant that it can be returned as long as no software was installed on it. Eventually I went to the Incredible connection store in Northgate mall and discovered a similar laptop that really fit my requirements. I asked for an exchange but was told regardless of no software installation, I have to pay 15% for handling fee. That is almost 3000 rand just for taking the laptop out of the store and opening the seal!!
It is very unfair and exploitative that one can spend that much in one store and not get any support despite being given misleading information by the same store. They dint even try to check if I could find what I wanted in another branch before persuading me to buy something that I'm not satisfied with.
