I got given a sandton city gift card for R3500. When I tried to use it in the gap store, it showed that the transaction declined, but the money was taken off my card anyway. I was therefore not allowed to leave the store with the goods I purchased, as they had not received an authorisation code from the bank. R3000 worth of goods that I purchased and paid for. We phoned the numbers on the card, no one answered. We went down to the customer service kiosk, and the man working there gave us bad attitude and no help. The most he gave me was a statement of my card showing the money had been taken off the card and at which store, but they still need an authorisation code so I can't leave. It is now 3 hours later, I am still standing in GAP. The consultant on the phone said the transaction needs to be reversed and put through again, but only after the store fills in a form and faxes it back, taking lord knows how long. I am furious, and I would like to leave. With either my goods, or my money. This is the WORST service I have ever experienced.
