Why sell when you cant insure

I bought a Sumsung Galaxy S4 about 2 weeks ago via the Foschini group call centre, the phone was delivered at my workplace.

While ordering the phone telephonically, i asked the person who was capturing my order if i can apply for insurance for the phone through him, he clarified that he doesn't offer insurance nut i should instead go in store with the proof of purchase and ask for insurance. Today i went to Markhams higveld mall, firstly the lady i spoke to had bad attitude, secondly she gave me a run around asking for my details, after a long wait when she had finally decided to fill in the application form, she realized that my phone is too expensive and they only insure phones that are less than R3500 and should rather go to the nearest MTN shop and ask them for insurance.

Why do you sell cellphones that you dont even insure, and why was this not brought up during the telephone when i ordered the phone?

Last but not least, i only realised today that the invoice that was sent to me had 11 July 2013 as entry sale, which now also caused problems in-store? I ordered the phone 08 November 2013 and received it on the 12th November 2013, not 11 July 13
