I would like to complain about Truworth's policy of sending out SMS reminders "as a courtesy" informing how much I need to pay and by what date. I find this to be highly offensive and bordering on harassment. No other service providers feel the need to remind their customers to pay their accounts - why does Truworths feel the need to treat us like ignorant children? I see more than one complaint on this website regarding this and I think it is time Truworths reviews this unacceptable policy. We already live in a time where we are being constantly bombarded with SMS advertising and unwelcome tele-sales phone calls. Since these SMS reminders are apparently auto generated, I feel the only way I can stop this is to pay up my account and close it altogether. Truworths is the last institution in South Africa that I want to owe money to.
