I was recently on holiday in Ballito with my children and family & had gone into Checkers on the 25th Oct and purchased -R1 100.00 in groceries & then went into the liquor store to purchase some alcohol for what was to be a fun filled relaxing weekend. After paying for my alcohol I pushed my trolley outside & then came back into the store with my cousin to purchase more things, when I got back out the store the security guard was standing next to my husband & accusing me of a packet of beacon chocolates - worth about R20.00. My daughter of 5 had placed the chocolates in the trolley which I had not seen her do - I immediately apologised and returned back into the store to put them back the security guard was very stroppy with me accusing me of the chocolates in front of other customers in the store - I tried to explain to the Manager who was very dis-interested in my explanation I was highly embarrassed by his treatment of me & have never been excused of anything in my life whilst I understand he was doing his job - the way he approached me and spoke to me was disgusting & I would suggest both go on a customer service course on how to deal with customers
