On Thursday evening my wife did her weekly shopping at the Rock cottage branch. As she left the store, a car guard offered to help her with her trolley. She declined as she had parked her car close to the entrance of Checkers. When she arrived at the car, another car guard approached to help, and my wife again declined. The car guard insisted on helping and proceeded to pick up my 3 year old sitting in the trolley and handed her to my wife. While she was placing my daughter in the car seat, he quickly loaded the groceries in the boot and took away the trolley. Only when she arrived at home did she realise that R200 worth of groceries had been. We approached the branch manager on Friday evening and with an indifferent attitude said that it wasn't his problem (even though these guards are harassing his customers as soon as they walk out the door) and that he can't lose R200 worth of stock by reimbursing us. He then said he would contact the centre management and they would have to reimburse us the next day. We left our details with him and haven't heard from him since. What amazes me is that he couldn't care less if he loses a customer that spends over R5000/month at his store
