Opening account issues

I went to Edgars Northgate on Sunday (27/10) to open an account & was told the person dealing with this was not at work (month-end?). I filled in an application form with a copy of my ID and was told Edgars will call me during the course of the day to confirm my account.
Today (29/10) at 9am I went back to find out what is happening with my account as I was assured this takes only 15 minutes. Again the person dealing with this was not at work, but I was asked to come back at 10am. I returned at 10am & was told my application has been lost & I need to fill in another one. While filling in the form I was told I need to provide 3 months' bank statements (as I am a self-employed accountant).
This is when I decided this is simply not worth the trouble and opted for a cash Thank U card instead.
I am not angry, as I understand processes & procedures needs to be followed. I am simply frustrated that it would ultimately require four visits to Edgars to open an account.
