I went to Edgars in Westwood Mall yesterday to open up an account at Edgars.
So I follow the queue and eventually get redirected to the apparent resident expert for 'New Accounts'
I inquire about the payback terms if I were to open up an account, and she specifically told me
"If you buy something at Edgars, if you pay it back in 6 months it will be interest free, and thereafter you will
be charged interest". It is on these terms I had divulged all my personal information and waited there for half and hour, after which she said that, someone will call me to tell me when to pick up my Edgars Card.
I just got a call from Edgars to say that my card is ready for pickup in store and the girl over the phone raced through everything and luckily I stopped her to confirm the terms once more, just for my peace of mind and it was at that point she had told me a whole different story. She tells me that there is no such agreement of 6 months interest free. I am dismayed by the misinformation and chaotic service of Edgars and will definitely put off everyone I know from opening an account with Edgars and dealing with their inconsistent terms and conditions...
