On the 03 October 2013 at about 15:35 I visited Shoprite Station plaza Mitchells Plain to purchase a few daily goods. As I walked into the entrance a male security approached me and told me that I am not allowed to enter with my backpack. I asked why not as I do understand some store policies but he could not explain to me. I told him my backpack contain my personal belongings like my wallet, cellphone, identity document. Keys etc, but he was not interested in what I have to say instead he rather gave me an option to either hand in my backpack with my personal belongings because it is not a hand bag or I should leave the store. This is totally unacceptable and it was a huge embarrassment to me as this security raised his voice. I then asked him his name to complain at the branch manager but he refused and said "just go! " While a female security next to him agreed that I should just go as I can not enter. I then called the branch manager a few minutes later and explained the matter to her and she described the security on duty, I was told that the security suppose to let me in. However I don't think the matter was resolved properly as I would like an apology by this security.
