Edcon Credit Book - account closure

I received a notice dated 5 September, that ABSA has taken over the Edgars credit book, and that due to insufficient information, systems and other compliance matters on my edgars account, they will be closing my account on 31 Jan. I now have to re-apply for the account, when i have had this account for over 20 years, and i am still liable for the outstanding balance. I have on more than 1 occasion given the necessary information for the account, but now i am affected by the above, and have to re-apply. As a valued customer, I would expect that i be contacted about such matters, and informed of the matter, before receiving notice of closure, which is not due to my lack of account conduct or provision of information, why should i be inconvenienced by this? I dont see why I should have to re-apply for the account, and as such, if you dont have enough information on record of me on your system, then why should i also be liable for settlement thereof? What exact information do you have? would be interesting to see, how a customer of approx 20 years is handled in this situation.
