I have had a problem with paying my account at Edgars The Glen and Eastgate because I need to pay via my Amex card. Their machines have not been taking the card for several months. I finally resolved this two months ago by paying at customer service using a separate speed point machine. I spoke to Amex about this and they said if Edgars card machines were not working they had to call American Express for authorisation as it is part of the merchant agreement. I went on Thursday 26th September to the Glen customer service to pay. Now I know that there has been some major renovations to the store but they should be better organised because when I arrived the speed point was not connected! I asked for a supervisor and Zanele was on the floor. I told her my problem and said that she would have to phone Amex for authorisation. She looked at me then said why don't I EFT (which I cant) she then asked what is their phone number to which I replied that she should know as she is the Merchant. She then marched off to the other side and proceeded to deal with another customer. I had to go back another time to the store and was finally helped by Patience who took the 10 min to get authorisation
