I went to Pick n Pay family store in Town Centre Mitchells Plain to purchase myself lunch with my gift card.
I've purchased on my card several times before at the same store and they never ask my Id, it is a gift card and therefore does not require an Id. I then went back to work to collect my Id to complete the purchase.
I know for a fact my balance was R15 at the time, the cashier at the food section confirmed that the sale went through the first time. I even have a copy of the slip that shows approved amount but according to the admin lady the sale never went through. My balance was confirmed and indeed the amount was deducted.
The admin lady was rude and arrogant telling me that I should contact the gift card department to reverse the money and that it is not their problem.
What a way to speak to to customers.
