I handed in a Garmin Heart rate monitor watch for replacement of the battery on 18 August. After a week I heard nothing and phoned the store to be told that a quote had come in for about R170 - vague at best. I asked why no one got back to me but was told they were waiting for me to call - I thought that would have been part of their service. Any way I told them to go ahead with the replacement asap as I needed it for training.
After three weeks, I assumed that the watch must have been returned to the store. I was told they had not received any feedback from Garmin yet - They also could not produce the quote they originally told me they had for R170. Again I was promised they would look into the matter and get back to me.
I am still waiting for some response of any kind. How does one follow a serious fitness program without the tools? How long does it take to replace a battery? It is now 6 weeks to the date. I have heard nothing from Due South or Garmin and have no assurance that my watch is anywhere in the system at all! I will never buy another Garmin product if I need to get service through Due South -their service is non existant.
